Best Shopify Profit Analytics Apps in 2026: An Honest Comparison
Shopify profit apps compared with prices from their App Store listings: TrueProfit, BeProfit, Lifetimely, Profit Calc, Triple Whale, Tera Ads and Shopify's reports.
On this page
The best Shopify profit analytics app is the one that takes every cost you actually pay off your real Shopify sales, at a price that fits your order volume. TrueProfit, BeProfit and Profit Calc are order-priced profit dashboards, Lifetimely adds lifetime value and has a free plan, Triple Whale bundles profit into a much larger platform, and Tera Ads is free for one business on Meta and Google. Shopify's own reports show gross profit only.
Key takeaways
- Shopify's built-in profit reports show net sales minus product cost, and only for items that had a cost recorded when they sold.
- A profit app should also take off ad spend, shipping, payment fees, returns and refunds, on your Shopify orders rather than platform-reported sales.
- Most profit apps charge by monthly orders: entry plans run from $35 to $49 a month, and the price climbs as you grow.
- Pick by order volume, ad channels and whether you need lifetime value, several shops or attribution.
- Test any app against one settled month of your own numbers before trusting it.
What a profit analytics app should calculate
Sales are easy to see in Shopify. Profit takes a few more lines. A useful profit app works out, for each day and month:
- Net sales from your Shopify orders, after discounts, taxes and cancellations.
- Product cost, from Shopify's cost per item or a margin you set. Our guide to setting up product cost in Shopify shows how to get this number right, including packaging and freight.
- Ad spend from every platform you use.
- Shipping, payment fees and other per-order costs.
- Returns and refunds, ideally counted in the month the order was placed, so last month's profit keeps settling as returns come in.
What's left is contribution after marketing: the money that pays your fixed costs. Contribution margin for D2C brands explains the levels, and the Shopify profit tracking guide covers how to track it daily.
What Shopify's own reports already show
Before you pay for an app, know what's free. Shopify's profit reports include gross profit by product and by variant, profit margin by order and average profit margin by market. Gross profit is net sales minus cost, and Shopify says profit is reported only for products and variants that had a cost recorded at the time they sold. Discounts and refunds lower net sales, so refunds do show up.
What the reports don't do is take off ad spend, shipping labels or payment fees. They also use a fixed cost per item, so a supplier price change isn't reflected in past orders. For a store that doesn't advertise much, that may be enough. Once ads are your biggest cost, you need an app or a sheet that adds them. Shopify analytics vs dedicated tools goes through the trade-off.

App by app
TrueProfit
TrueProfit is a net profit dashboard with the widest ad sync here: Facebook, Google, TikTok, Microsoft, X, Pinterest, Snapchat and Amazon. Plans are priced by orders with a per-order charge above each limit, from $0.30 an order on Basic down to $0.07 on Enterprise, and each surcharge is capped. It tracks product cost by quantity, shipping by weight and custom costs, and adds a P&L report, lifetime value, a mobile app and an MCP connector for ChatGPT and Claude. It's available in English, French and Spanish.
Pick it if you advertise on several platforms beyond Meta and Google, or run print-on-demand through Printful, Printify or Gelato.
BeProfit
BeProfit compares profit by order, product, country, platform and shop. Every plan has unlimited ad integrations; Pro adds custom reports and a P&L report, Ultimate adds UTM attribution, lifetime value cohorts and pricing simulators, and Plus at $249 covers unlimited orders, shops and platforms with API access. Yearly billing saves 20%.
Pick it if you run several shops or sell on Amazon and want one profit and loss view across them.
Lifetimely
Lifetimely has a free plan with daily profit and loss, custom reports and dashboards, a predictive lifetime value model, benchmarks and sales forecasts. Paid plans add a Profit Agent, an MCP connector, unlimited users and 24/7 support. Amazon data is $75 a month extra. It works with Klaviyo, Recharge and Skio as well as the ad platforms.
Pick it if repeat purchases and subscriptions drive your business, and lifetime value matters as much as this month's profit.
Profit Calc
Profit Calc keeps pricing simple: every plan has the same features, and only the order limit changes. It lists real-time and historical currency conversion, which helps if you sell in several currencies, and works with fulfillment and shipping apps such as ShipBob, ShipHero and Shippo.
Pick it if you want a plain profit dashboard and pay mainly for order volume.
Triple Whale
Triple Whale is a broad platform where profit is one part. Its free plan includes the Triple Pixel and first- and last-click attribution; Foundation at $219 a month adds multi-touch attribution, cohort analysis, custom dashboards with a SQL editor and its Moby AI operator. Our Triple Whale alternatives roundup compares it with the other big platforms.
Pick it if you want attribution, cohorts and custom dashboards in one product and the fee is small next to your ad budget.
Tera Ads
Tera Ads is built around one number: the store's profit after product cost, ad spend, shipping, payment fees, returns and refunds. Product cost comes from a margin you set for the store, 70% unless you change it, rather than from each product's cost per item. Returns are counted in the month the order was placed and settle after about 45 days. Orders arrive about a second after checkout, Meta spend every 30 minutes and Google spend every hour. Every Meta Ads and Google Ads campaign sits in one table with the ROAS each platform reports and the money-wasters marked. It's free for one business, no card needed.
Pick it if you run Meta Ads and Google Ads for one Shopify store and want store profit after returns without a per-order bill.
What you'll pay as you grow
Entry prices look close. The gap opens as orders grow, because most apps price by monthly orders. Here is each app's cheapest plan that covers about 1,500 orders a month, from the same listings:

At that size, Profit Calc's Growth plan is $79, TrueProfit's Ultimate plan is $100, and BeProfit's Ultimate and Lifetimely's middle plan are both $149. Triple Whale's listing doesn't price Foundation by orders. Run the same check at your own volume, and at the volume you expect in a year.
Where these apps beat Tera Ads
Honest comparison means saying where others are stronger:
- More ad platforms. TrueProfit, BeProfit, Lifetimely and Profit Calc all list TikTok, and several list Snapchat, Pinterest, Microsoft or Amazon. Tera Ads connects Meta Ads and Google Ads.
- Cost per product. TrueProfit lists quantity-based product costs and Profit Calc lists product cost integrations, so cost can differ by product; Tera Ads uses one margin for the whole store.
- Lifetime value and cohorts. Lifetimely and BeProfit Ultimate have lifetime value cohorts, TrueProfit lists lifetime value on every plan and Triple Whale Foundation lists cohort analysis; Tera Ads has none of these.
- Several shops in one view. BeProfit Plus and TrueProfit's all-store view cover that.
- Attribution. BeProfit's UTM attribution, TrueProfit's marketing attribution on Enterprise and Triple Whale's multi-touch attribution go further than the platform ROAS Tera Ads shows.
How to choose
- Count your monthly orders, now and in a year, and price each app at both.
- List your ad platforms. If you're only on Meta and Google, most apps cover you; if you're on TikTok or Pinterest too, narrow the list.
- Decide how product cost is entered. Per product from Shopify, or one margin for the store.
- Check returns. Ask whether refunds come off profit in the month the order was placed.
- Run a test month. Compare the app's profit for a month that's six weeks old with your own sheet. Break-even ROAS is a good number to check alongside it.
Common mistakes
Leaving cost per item blank. Every profit app is only as right as your product costs.
Comparing entry prices only. Price at the order volume you'll have in a year.
Counting platform-reported sales. Meta and Google can both claim the same order; use Shopify orders as the truth.
Reading this month's profit too early. Returns keep arriving for weeks, so recent months look better than they'll end up.
