Pipeboard Alternative: Pipeboard vs Tera Ads Connect for Ads MCP
Pipeboard connects AI assistants to many ad platforms. What its free plan includes, where it wins, and how Tera Ads Connect compares when store profit matters.
On this page
Pipeboard is a hosted MCP service that lets AI assistants such as Claude and ChatGPT read and manage ad accounts on Meta, Google, TikTok and other platforms. Its free plan gives 30 tool calls a week on two ad accounts, and paid plans remove the cap. Tera Ads Connect is narrower on ad platforms but answers from your Shopify store: sales, returns and profit after ad spend. Choose Pipeboard for many platforms and accounts, Tera Ads Connect for profit-aware answers.
Key takeaways
- Pipeboard's pricing page lists a free plan with 30 AI tool executions a week and two ad account slots, without campaign or ad duplication.
- Its paid plans, Pro, Premium and Agency, have unlimited weekly executions and 3, 10 or 25 ad account slots; the price is on its pricing page.
- Pipeboard wins on breadth: its integrations page lists Meta, Google, TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft, Pinterest, Snap and Reddit ads.
- Tera Ads Connect is free for 30 calls a week on one ad account, and Connect Pro is $15 a month for 3,000 calls on up to three.
- Tera Ads Connect sees your Shopify orders and returns, so answers can be in store profit, not only platform ROAS.
How we compared
We compared both services on what a Shopify brand needs from an ads assistant: what it can read, what it can change, how it limits changes, and what it costs. Pipeboard facts come from its homepage, pricing page and integrations page, checked on 14 October 2026 and linked where they appear. Tera Ads facts come from our own product as it works today. Our editorial standards explain how we write comparisons that include our own product.
What Pipeboard does
Pipeboard is an MCP server: you add it to your assistant as a connector, sign in to your ad accounts, and the assistant can call its tools when you ask in plain words. Its homepage pitches it for teams that want to "Launch campaigns, uncover wasted spend, and act faster", with setup guides for Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor, n8n and Codex. Its FAQ says that with the right permissions an assistant can create campaigns, upload creatives, update budgets and perform other supported actions, and that what's possible varies by platform.
Its integrations page lists Meta Ads, Google Ads, TikTok Ads, LinkedIn Ads, Microsoft Ads, Pinterest Ads, Snap Ads and Reddit Ads, plus Google Analytics, Google Search Console and Google Merchant. The integrations page doesn't list Shopify or store sales data.
On security, the homepage says platform credentials stay on Pipeboard's servers, read-only tokens allow reporting without permission to change ads, and tokens can be scoped to specific ad accounts and tools depending on plan. MCP connectors explained covers how sign-in and permissions work for any connector.

What Tera Ads Connect does
Tera Ads Connect is the remote MCP server of Tera Ads, at https://teraads.co/mcp. It works in Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code and Claude Code. Your assistant can read your Meta campaigns, ad sets and ads, and it answers from your store as well: Shopify sales, Meta Ads and Google Ads spend, and the store's profit after product cost, ad spend, shipping, payment fees, returns and refunds. Returns are counted in the month the order was placed.
With your permission, an assistant can also pause and resume ads, change budgets and build new campaigns. Guard rails are built in:
- New campaigns start paused, so nothing spends until you turn it on.
- Budget changes are capped. One change can at most triple a budget or cut it to a tenth.
- Every change is logged with an undo in Tera Ads.
It's free for 30 calls a week on one ad account. Connect Pro is $15 a month for 3,000 calls a month on up to three ad accounts, and it's included with the Growth and Scale plans. Other plan prices are on the pricing page, charged in your own currency.
Where Pipeboard is the better choice
Pipeboard is likely the better fit if:
- You advertise beyond Meta and Google. TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft, Pinterest, Snap and Reddit are on its integrations page; Tera Ads Connect isn't built for them.
- You want an assistant to work inside Google Ads too. Pipeboard lists Google Ads as an integration; Tera Ads Connect makes changes on Meta and brings Google Ads spend into profit.
- You run many accounts. Agency covers 25 ad account slots, with more available, against three on Connect Pro.
- You make heavy use of an assistant. Paid Pipeboard plans have unlimited weekly calls; Connect Pro has 3,000 a month.
- You need enterprise security paperwork, such as single sign-on and SOC 2 evidence, on its Secure Enterprise plan.
- You want two ad accounts free. Pipeboard's free plan has two slots; Tera Ads Connect's has one.
Where Tera Ads Connect fits better
The difference is what the assistant knows. A connector that only talks to ad platforms repeats what they report: purchases they attribute to their own ads. Meta and Google can both claim the same order, and neither knows which orders came back. Why Meta Ads and Shopify disagree explains the gap.
Tera Ads Connect is built for Shopify brands on Meta Ads and Google Ads that want answers in money kept:
- Store profit after returns, from your Shopify orders and refunds, with Meta and Google spend taken off.
- Meta and Google spend in one place, both taken off the same store profit.
- Capped, reversible changes, with new campaigns paused and an undo for each change.
- A price in dollars you can check, $15 a month for Connect Pro.
Worked example: the same question, two answers
Say a store has a month with $30,000 of Shopify sales and $12,000 of ad spend across Meta and Google, and the two platforms' own reports add up to about 3.4× ROAS. You ask your assistant: "Should I raise budgets by half?"
An assistant connected only to the ad platforms sees 3.4× and may well say yes. An assistant that also sees the store can work out more. Product cost at a 70% margin is $9,000, shipping and payment fees are $3,000, and returns and refunds are $3,000. That leaves $15,000 before ads, a 50% margin, so break-even is 2.0× on store sales. The store's own sales over ad spend is 2.5×, and $3,000 of profit is left after the $12,000 of ads.

There's room to grow, but not as much as 3.4× suggests. A 50% budget increase at lower returns could erase the $3,000. These are illustrative numbers; break-even ROAS shows how to work out yours.
Setting up either one
Both are remote MCP servers, so setup takes minutes and no code:
- Copy the server address from the service's setup page. For Tera Ads Connect it's https://teraads.co/mcp.
- Add it as a custom connector in your assistant's connector settings.
- Sign in and choose the ad accounts, or for Tera Ads the business, it may use.
- Decide what it may change before your first chat. Start read-only if you're unsure.
- Check the first answers against Ads Manager and Shopify.
The Connect page has the steps for each assistant, and the guide to safe AI access has a short policy you can copy. If you're weighing several connectors, Meta Ads MCP options compares Meta's own connector too, and our Madgicx comparison covers an ads AI platform with its own MCP server.
Common mistakes
Granting full change access on day one. Begin read-only and widen access once answers check out.
Counting tools instead of answers. More tools don't help if none can tell you what the store kept.
Running out of calls mid-analysis. Free plans cap calls per week, and a long chat can use a week's allowance.
Scaling on platform ROAS alone. Check store profit after returns before raising budgets.
